Ways You Can Help
Kingston Residents
If you are a resident of Kingston village you can help by joining the Speedwatch group as well as your nearest Neighbourhood Watch group. By joining Speedwatch and volunteering to monitor traffic speeds you can play an active role in reducing the speeds people take through our village and with regular presence from Speedwatch drivers will be more likely to stick to the speed limits through the village even on the days there is no Speedwatch presence around.
Not a Kingston Resident
You can support Project Gizmo by simply sharing our mission, following our social media, and sharing your ideas for slowing down traffic! Any support is welcomed!
Donations
If you are local to Kingston village and you have any wood laying around that you no longer have a use for and would like to donate it please send me an email. The wood will be used to make additional slow down, slow children and pets and other signs to be placed in the most prolific speeding spots until the local council can put in permanent ones. The wood will also be used to build bird houses as one of their favourite trees is due to be cut down, so to give these birds extra options the bird houses will be placed on the grass bank the tree resides on, well out of the way of moving traffic, but they will hopefully help to prevent the dangerous parking that is rife during school kick out times. All signs and bird houses will be placed safely, away from the road with reflective borders and will not pose a danger to pedestrians or road users and everything will be done with animal safe, non-toxic materials.
Monetary donations are not asked for or expected. Project Gizmo is not here to make money, it's here to make a real difference in our community. That being said, if you would like to contribute to the cost of the website, paint, and having signs, posters, flyers and other such things made, I have set up a buy me a coffee. Any and all money from the buy me a coffee will go directly into Project Gizmo and will go towards making a difference.
